Myra Eetgerink is a Dutch- Flemish dancer, actress and multidisciplinary performance maker. After the preparatory course Mime at the Amsterdam School for Theatre, she graduated from the Ecole Internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq (Physical theatre) in Paris in 2013. Myra then pursued contemporary dance for several years, training with companies such as Batsheva in Tel Aviv and Ultima Vez in Brussels. She moved to Berlin and started working as an actress and dancer in German and international film, tv and theatre projects from 2017 onwards. She has collaborated on many music videos and lend her voice to several film and theatre productions. She is currently developing her own work in which she combines dance, theatre and contemporary circus, collaborating with dancers, clowns and musicians. Myra also has a wide interest in music, languages and cultures, she plays piano and loves to sing and she can speak and act in seven languages.

“For me the body has always been the starting point to tell a story, whereas words can be specific and beautiful, they can also be misleading or ambiguous, the body has a truth and authenticity difficult to reach otherwise. I am fascinated by the power and expressive energy of the moving body and love to experiment with the emotional dimensions of dance and to stretch the boundaries between dance, theatre and contemporary circus.”
